In an effort to improve air quality and reduce air pollution produced by gasoline powered lawn mowers, the Maricopa County Air Quality Department is introducing ‘Mowing Down Pollution,’ a lawn mower replacement program. Trade in your gasoline powered lawn mower and receive a $150 voucher towards the purchase of a new zero-emission electric or battery powered lawn mower at participating Home Depot locations. Maricopa County residents who own a working gasoline powered lawn mower are eligible to participate. This program gives you the power to aid in pollution reduction efforts. Electric and battery powered lawn mowers are quieter and cleaner and eliminate the hassle of obtaining and using gasoline. Press Coffee Roasters announced it will build a flagship roasting facility in the 32nd & Shea neighborhood of North Phoenix. The 5,600 sqft facility at 10443 N. 32nd St. will be a full production site for Press Coffee’s whole bean roasting operations. It will also be open to the public with a fully functioning café serving drinks and food with plenty of meeting space. Expected completion of the $3.5 million project is Spring 2019.
Co-owners Steve Kraus, Jason Kyle and Alex Mason describe the new roastery as an ongoing commitment from Press to be Arizona’s own local coffee roaster. Kraus opened the first Press Coffee in North Phoenix in 2008 and Kyle and Mason are both born-and-raised Arizona natives.
Says Kraus, “We are excited about the future of this iconic building. We wanted to go beyond just a production facility and create a space that allows us to share our love for coffee with the community.”
The Construction Zone, LTD will serve as the general contractor, architect and designer. The modern design of the flagship roastery will showcase and educate the public about specialty coffee with viewing areas of the roasting rooms and space for Press’ Coffee 101 tastings.
“This facility allows us to open our doors to the public and share our passion for roasting amazing coffees from around the world,” says Kyle. “We’re also thrilled to help put Arizona on the specialty coffee national map.”
The project will double Press’ production facilities. When the new roastery is open, its current whole bean roastery located in Phoenix will be dedicated for cold brew production. Press plans to expand cold brew production with the addition of a 15-barrel brewing system.
“We’re proud to have helped lead the way in creating a great, locally made cold brew that Arizona can call its own,” says Mason. “This expansion allows us to serve cold brew to even more of Arizona.”

May 4 1991 is an important date. If your pool was built before this time then the restrictions are less stringent due to grandfathering. All pools built after are subject to the all pool fence requirements.

Did you know that you can contact the Fire Department to report a pool that is accessible due to a fence being down or a gate not functioning properly? You can contact the Phoenix Fire Department Fire Prevention Division at 602-262-6771 to report an accessible pool during normal business hours or you can call 602-495-5555 to report an accessible pool outside of normal business hours. A Fire Inspector will respond to secure the pool.

When you have lived at the same address for a number of years, you rarely pay any attention to your house numbers (address).

Make it a point to LOOK at your numbers to see if:
-All of the numbers are still there
-They are Large enough to be seen easily from the street
-Any landscape vegetation has grown over them limiting their visibility
