Virtual Community Budget Hearings

The city will be hosting virtual community Budget Hearings to gather valuable public input. It is an opportunity for the public to let the Council know what is important to them and where funding should be allocated. The dates were just announced, so I wanted to make sure to provide advance notice.

The City Manager will present his Trial Budget to the Council on March 16, and that will be followed by the public input process to further shape the budget.

We are in District 3.  Our Hearing date/time is:  April 8 @ 8:30 a.m

You’ll see on the graphic that the meetings indicate a meeting type (council district, youth, seniors, Spanish, etc.), but each of the meetings is open to any member of the public and will have an interpreter available.

I’ll be sending more information in the next couple of weeks. The registration and links will be available March 29 at phoenix.gov/budget.

Feel free to share this information with anyone that might find it helpful!

FREE COVID-19 Tests

FREE COVID-19 tests at Shadow Mountain Senior Center – March 6
The Mobile Testing Van #2 will be at the Shadow Mountain Senior Center on March 6. Phoenix’s Van #2 offers FREE COVID-19 antigen testing with rapid results, as well as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing with results emailed to the individual in 1-2 days for added assurance. There are no out-of-pocket-costs for individuals, with or without medical insurance.

While Van #1’s goal is to make COVID-19 testing accessible to Phoenix’s underserved communities, Van #2 will focus on bringing accessible testing to areas in the city considered to be “hot spots,” or areas that are showing a higher incidence of reported COVID-19 cases.

Saturday, March 6
7 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Phoenix to mail ballots soon for March election

Phoenix voters will elect City Council members on March 9th.

Early voting begins soon. The city will start mailing out early ballots on February 10th.

People living in north-central and parts of north Phoenix will elect a council member to serve District 3.

In District 3, incumbent Councilmember Debra Stark faces challenger Nicole Garcia.

The council elections are nonpartisan.

This is a runoff election for the two spots after no candidate for either seat got more than 50% of the vote in November’s primary election.

Please take the time to vote.
This Councilmember is the voice for our communities!
